finally

I finally took what feels like an actual step toward the whole name change thing -- I went in this morning to get my new driver's license. I felt like a moron when I couldn't remember if I got my new address correct. Wouldn't that have just been great? A whole new license with the wrong address? Then I'd still have to be carrying around those slips of yellow paper; how annoying (If you move and don't want to pay $30 or whatever to get a new license printed, you can just get a change of address form and carry around a slip of paper with your new address. I've been doing this for three years already with multiple slips of paper. I want to be done with them!). But I got the address right. And am now a carrier of one of those awesome "receipt" licenses. Hope it doesn't blow away in the wind.

And I finally updated my voter registration. After two years of it being invalid due to address change. Every time an election would come around, I'd "discover" (again) that I was ineligible to vote, so now I am back on my way to being an upstanding citizen.

On another subject, someone threw a tomato or something at my car this morning while driving down Main St.! What a jerk. It was smashed all along the driver's side of the car. I did get to go to the car wash, which I pretty much love. It looks like it will rain today.
