48 hours of snow

At the end of October, we had 48 straight hours of snow. I profess to hate winter and snow, but this was awesome. Unfortunately for me, it did not get me out of any obligations. The university closed Wednesday at 2pm, but my last class had ended at 10am. The university was open Thursday (the 2nd day in the 48 hours), so I went in for my 8 o'clock...only to discover my professor had canceled our class. Sheesh. Here are the sweet pics.

From the middle of the first day of snow. This is taken from our outside stairwell, from which you can see the stadium.

We were amazed at the skinny area that 16" of snow could pile up on.

Everything kind of looked like it had a jumbo marshmallow sitting on top of it.

From the end of the first 24 hours. I think by the time it stopped, 21-24 inches had accumulated. A lot of the first snow was lost due to the ground being so warm when it started; I wonder what the total that fell was? By the end of the day Friday, you could hardly even tell it had snowed -- it melted off really, really quickly.
